アムステルダムの中心にある小さなスタジオで、彫刻的なセラミックとテキスタイルの実験作品を制作する Luna Mara（ルナ・マラ）

彼女は自身の作品の中で、アートとクラフトマンシップのバランスを探ることに喜びを感じ、日々の慌しい生活に調和をもたらす静寂のオブジェを作ることを常に望んでいます。

テキスタイルの仕事では、彼女は自然との対となっていました。他の仕事の合間に、美しいオランダの風景の中に、溶け込むように座って何時間もステッチをしていると、それはほとんど瞑想状態になると語ります。自然界に見られる色調と、自身の思考プロセスを視覚化する形を用いて、単色の配色でミニマルな抽象的形状を手縫いで製作しています。

陶磁器を扱う際には、様々な手作りの方法を用いて、ゆっくりと作業を進めていきます。その結果、何日も、時には何週間もかけて、私の手から徐々に作品が生まれてきます。形を整え、休ませ、さまざまな角度から観察し、必要に応じて形を変え、離れていきますが、すべては手づくりがもたらす自然の不完全さを穏やかに受け入れるためだと語ります。

完成した作品は、作り手と素材の間で交わされる継続的な会話の断片を捉えた、一点ものの作品です。
