1970年代フュージョン、ジャズロック・ファンにとってレアな2作が奇跡のカップリングで初CD化！『Another Sleeper』は、英ハーヴェスト・レーベルからリリースされた、キーボーディストのマックス・ミドルトン（ジェフ・ベック・グループ、ハミングバード）と、ギタリストのロバート・アーワイ（ハミングバード）のコラボによるジャズ／フュージョン傑作。1970年代独特のメロウなテイストは3曲目 Partial Eclipse/Total Madness で味わえます。エレピとギターのジャジーなソロ、そしてストリングスの絶妙な絡みのフレーズを乗せて心地よく疾走するリズム・セクション、最高です。そして『Cape Wrath』は、2009年にタワレコの企画で復刻したアルバム『UP』でも知られるディック・モリッシー＆ジム・ミューレンのコンビによるセカンド・アルバム。バックにはマックス・ミドルトン、ロバート・アーワイら『Another Sleeper』の面々が参加。ビル・ウィザーズのカヴァー Lovely Day は超爽やかモード全開！また原曲が分からないほどカッコいいアレンジで変貌したスタンダード ソウルアイズ も聴き所。プログレファンにも○
